About the RoleThis is a term-time only position, working Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 6:15pm. As an Early Years Extended Day Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wraparound care to our families in a fun and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement engaging activities that cater to the needs and interests of the children, ensuring that staff are properly deployed and offer appropriate stimulation and support.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of wraparound care staff in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, promoting a culture of collaboration and open communication.
- Supervision and Support: Supervise and support pupils during activities, ensuring that all have equal opportunities to develop their individual and team skills.
- Mealtimes and Safety: Supervise mealtimes and ensure that individual children's medical and dietary needs are met, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Property and Belongings: Ensure that children's property is stored safely and that they take the correct belongings home.
- First Aid and Welfare: Comfort and supervise pupils who are ill or have had an accident, administering to their needs as appropriate and referring to the First Aider.
- Safeguarding and Compliance: Have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, following the child protection procedures adopted by the school.
- Policies and Procedures: Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Behaviour, Health, Safety and Security, Confidentiality and Data Protection.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor play equipment to ensure health and safety standards are met, reporting any concerns to the school Operations Manager.
- Training and Development: Undertake suitable first aid, food safety and safeguarding training in accordance with school policy.
- Confidentiality and Communication: Be aware of confidentiality issues and keep confidences as appropriate, maintaining effective communication with the office manager and other stakeholders.
- Patience and Understanding: Patience and a willingness to develop an understanding of how young children learn and develop.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Efficiency and Humour: Efficiency and a sense of humour, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Initiative and Independence: Initiative to work on your own, with good IT skills and the ability to problem-solve.
- Childcare Qualification: NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent.
