Job Overview

We are looking for a caring and motivated Early Years Special Needs Support Assistant to become part of our team.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) educators and other specialists to assist in the learning and growth of young children experiencing communication and interaction challenges.

This role is crucial in enabling our youngest learners to overcome obstacles to their education and embark on their learning journey positively.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized and small group assistance to EYFS students with communication and interaction challenges.
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Support young learners in developing essential social skills and fostering positive relationships with peers.
  • Work in partnership with EYFS educators and therapists to deliver customized interventions and support strategies.
  • Track and document students' progress, offering feedback to the teaching staff and parents/carers.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing educational environment for EYFS students.
  • Encourage and enhance independence and self-esteem in young children.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with young children, especially those with special educational needs related to communication and interaction.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient disposition.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A relevant qualification in early childhood education, childcare, or SEN support is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
