The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Learning Support Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will work closely with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teachers and other professionals to support the learning and development of young children with communication and interaction difficulties. This role is vital in helping the youngest pupils overcome barriers to learning and start their educational journey on a positive note.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to EYFS children with communication and interaction difficulties.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
Support young pupils in developing foundational social skills and positive interactions with peers.
Collaborate with EYFS teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions and support strategies.
Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for EYFS pupils.
Encourage and promote independence and self-esteem in young children.

Requirements

Experience working with young children, particularly those with special educational needs related to communication and interaction.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A relevant qualification in early childhood education, childcare, or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
