Key Responsibilities
The Community Vaccination Specialist will play a vital role in executing the Immunisation Programmes as directed by the Team Lead.
- Report to the Immunisation Team Lead, assisting in the service's development and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a safe and effective immunisation program for the community and school-aged children.
- Deliver an efficient Childhood Immunisation Programme in collaboration with Universal Services for Children, educational institutions, and stakeholders.
- Accurately collect and maintain data during each immunisation session.
- Work in partnership with school nursing teams and child health services to plan and implement immunisation initiatives in schools, aiming to meet key performance indicators.
- Engage with local statutory, private, and voluntary organizations, as well as community members, to create and promote accessible and responsive practices that cater to all segments of the local population, focusing on vulnerable groups to foster social inclusion.
- Promote and oversee safe and effective practices.
- Enhance the overall experience for clients.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Evidence of ongoing professional development post-registration
- Completion of Public Health England Immunisation training course or equivalent (or willingness to undertake)
- Current NMC registration and understanding of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct

- Demonstrable experience post-registration
- Experience in teamwork

- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications
- Evidence of proficiency in clinical skills
