Children and Young People Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children, Young People & Families Development Worker to join our team at Stonewater. As a key member of our domestic abuse service, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred, age-appropriate support to children and young people affected by domestic violence and abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of children and young people, ensuring a strengths-based approach that enables them to realise their potential.
- Offer support, advocacy, and information to all children and young people, producing individual support plans that include actions identified and required from assessments.
- Work closely with the team to offer awareness and co-delivery of support, ensuring a seamless service for our customers.
- Develop and implement our Children, Young People and Family Support Programme, in collaboration with the management team.
- Build effective partnership working with parents and specialist agencies, such as mental health teams and offending services.
- Hold a Level 3 qualification (e.g. NNEB, Health & Social Care) or equivalent.
- Proven experience of working with Children and Young People, including organising and providing appropriate play and other activities.
- Deep understanding of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people.
- Ability to work in a non-judgemental way, recognising different and individual needs children may have.
- Understanding and commitment to compliance in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references, and possession of a valid Right to Work document. We offer a flexible working approach, with a five-day rota that may include bank holidays, evenings, and weekends. There is also an on-call rota.
