About the Role

Capita Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Clinical Advisor, you will play a vital role in conducting assessments and providing expert advice to support the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in making informed decisions about individuals' health and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports of up to 3,000-4,000 words per day, ensuring enough detail, evidence, and justification to support the DWP in making decisions.
  • Analyze and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence to inform assessment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services and high-quality outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • One year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic.
  • Full registration with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or other), without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, with the ability to listen, empathize, and dig deeper.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and remote access systems.
  • A current valid driving license or access to a form of transport to attend your nearest assessment center.
What We Offer
  • A competitive basic salary of £38,500 (pro rata for part-time) plus up to 5% training bonus, rising to £39,900 (pro rata for part-time) on achievement of remote approved status plus up to 10% bonus. On achievement of face-to-face delivery, your salary will increase to £41,500 (pro rata for part-time) plus up to 10% bonus.
