Position Overview

As a Service Operations Leader, you will be based in Wrexham, working 37.5 hours a week from Monday to Friday. Your role will involve occasional travel, approximately one to two days per week, to collaborate with partners and clients.

Service Context:

NEC collaborates with governmental bodies to manage welfare funds aimed at supporting vulnerable populations in Wales. Our primary responsibility is to assess and process grant applications efficiently while providing essential guidance to applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Head of Entitlement Services, overseeing the administration of extensive services and ensuring operational excellence within budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Management team to share best practices and support one another in achieving organizational goals.
  • Manage all aspects of contract execution, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, performance metrics, and quality standards.
  • Implement governance measures to safeguard the organization against fraud.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance service delivery and explore business development opportunities.
  • Network with industry partners to enrich our service offerings.
  • Maintain effective relationships with partners and subcontractors, ensuring value and collaboration.
  • Drive performance management through empowering your team and ensuring accountability.
  • Generate accurate reports and statistical data related to service performance and contractual obligations.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to address concerns and foster positive relationships.
  • Work alongside the Senior Services Improvement Manager to identify and implement initiatives that enhance profitability.
  • Motivate and develop your team, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Communicate organizational values and successes through monthly team meetings.
  • Represent the organization at relevant events and meetings, enhancing our public image.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly business review reports.
  • Contribute to the organization's commercial success by collaborating with management and business development teams.
  • Adhere to HR policies while addressing staffing challenges.

  • Provide leadership to optimize contract delivery and enhance staff utilization.
  • Review user feedback monthly and implement necessary improvements.

Learning and Development:

  • Participate in training sessions to develop new skills and refresh existing knowledge.
  • Create and review development plans for all team members quarterly.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development colleagues to identify suitable training opportunities.
  • Complete a session to understand your behavioral preferences and improve team interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in operational management within public sector services.
  • Proven track record in managing financial accounts and achieving budgetary goals.
  • Experience in account management and business development.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in motivating large teams.
  • Understanding of public sector outsourcing.
  • Full UK driving license is required.
