We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team at Manchester City Council. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the development of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • To assist in the coordination of referrals, identifying Early Help Interventions and coordinating actions as required, in partnership with local agencies and stakeholders.
  • To promote positive attitudes and behaviors among children and their families, ensuring parents and carers are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities.
  • To promote community cohesion and empowerment, working closely with parents and carers to establish them as partners in their child's education and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
