Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Payroll Manager and drive the implementation and operation of our in-house payroll service. As a key member of our HR Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of our payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver a robust and compliant payroll operation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide leadership and expert guidance to a new Payroll and HR Services team, developing their skills and expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with legislative updates, ensuring compliance and communicating the impacts on our employees.
- Establish and maintain a suitable control environment, meeting Costain's financial and audit requirements.
Key Performance Indicators
- Ensure weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
- Lead and develop a small team of payroll experts, providing training and support.
- Work with stakeholders to set up and establish the system, process, controls, and team accountabilities for the new in-house payroll service.
- Own and manage the Oracle payroll system, ensuring changes are made in a controlled and effective manner.
- Define and manage an appropriate payroll control environment, meeting Costain's financial and audit requirements.
- Act as the Company Subject Matter Expert on payroll, advising team members and other colleagues as required.
- Issue payments to employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Work with HMRC to ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met.
- Audit the payroll to ensure it satisfies all government regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate and managed in line with financial controls.
- Carry out payroll data analysis and reporting.
- Develop and improve payroll procedures in line with best practice.
- Contribute to the development of the overall HR Service, ensuring it is efficient and effective.
