Position: Federal Grants Management Specialist at Commonwealth of Virginia

The Federal Grants Management Specialist, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Systems & Processing, plays a crucial role in overseeing the execution of program controls to maintain program integrity and compliance for federal Title IV funding. This includes management of the Federal Pell Grant (FPELL), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and Federal TEACH Grant programs. The Specialist is tasked with administering an annual disbursement of $14 million for the Federal Pell Grant program and overseeing the allocation of FSEOG and TEACH Grant funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of federal programs.
  • Manage transfer monitoring and process applications for summer school.
  • Review enrollment verification records to ensure precise data reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar to guarantee accurate reporting of enrollment and degree status updates across systems.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of Financial Aid software systems.
  • Experience with the Colleague system is preferred.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and institutional aid regulations.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
