Head of Finance


Salary: £50k - £60 per annum

Location: Fully Remote

Reports to: Finance Director


H9 HR & Professional Services is seeking an experienced Finance Professional to join their team as the Head of Finance.


As a key member of the company's leadership team, the Head of Finance will play a crucial part in the company's strategic planning and growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance Team on all aspects of the business's day-to-day financial operations to ensure financial health, long-term sustainability, and compliance with policies.
  • Lead on the process of preparing and setting budgets, financial forecasting, and reporting, liaising closely with the Director of Finance and budget holders.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
  • Undertake financial due diligence approval checks against the raising of invoices, monthly payroll submissions, fortnightly BACS runs, cash flow management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the company's cash flow and ensure timely payment of debts and oversee the accounting function to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the wider finance team members.


Requirements:

  • An experienced individual with a proven track record in senior financial management.
  • Achievement of a recognised, professional Accountancy part qualification status (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience in the preparation of budgets, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Proven IT skills, including a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with a strong knowledge of Excel's functions.
  • Good people skills as this role will have line management responsibilities.
