Job Title: Financial Director

A UK-wide, therapeutic fostering service is seeking a Financial Director to report directly to the CEO, providing financial, strategic, and commercial support across the group. This is a full-time position, requiring strong leadership and analytical skills, coupled with a clear understanding of how to operate a high-quality finance function.

The Financial Director will work closely with the CEO, senior management, and fostering families to drive forward the company's vision and values, with relationship building being a crucial skill. This is a home-based role, but regular meetings will be required in Stockport, Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business, supported by the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Assistant
  • Line management of Finance Manager
  • Management and monitoring of cash flows to ensure financial stability
  • Oversee the timely and efficient operation of core finance processes (invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and family payments)
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Requirements:
  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or similar role, ideally in a PE-backed company
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, and financial analysis
  • Financial modelling
  • M&A experience would be beneficial
  • Excellent leadership and organisational skills
  • Thorough understanding of IT systems related to finance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
