ROLE OVERVIEW

The Financial Operations Specialist is tasked with the daily management of income receipts for a varied portfolio that includes commercial, industrial, and retail properties.

This position necessitates frequent and direct interaction with the accounts department, along with email and phone communications with property managers and tenants, to guarantee the prompt allocation of funds.

You will collaborate closely with the financial operations team and the Property Management departments to deliver exceptional service to our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establishing and nurturing strong professional relationships with tenants and colleagues across the accounting teams and the broader organization is crucial for your success. Your initiative will be highly valued.

The role involves processing a substantial volume of bank receipts on behalf of our clients.

Additionally, you will support the Treasury Manager by ensuring that all tasks are completed punctually and in alignment with internal and client KPIs, thereby delivering a top-tier service to all Workman clients.

To excel in this position, you will need to demonstrate a keen attention to detail, strong organizational and prioritization skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit, along with a commitment to personal growth within your role.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining control spreadsheets
  • Managing central email accounts
  • Downloading various bank statements
  • Daily posting of bank receipts
  • Reconciliation of tenant accounts
  • Coordinating with property managers regarding the allocation of bank receipts
  • Resolving tenant and client inquiries
  • Performing banking duties, including internal cash movements and BACS/CHAPS transfers
  • Executing any other tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the accounting department.

Salary Range: £21,000-£25,000

EXPECTATIONS

A proactive, practical, and positive work ethic is essential.

Excellent professional communication skills are required, along with the ability to foster strong working relationships with colleagues across the accounts and wider business.

No formal accounting qualifications are necessary for this role; however, the following skills are essential:

  • Maths & English G.C.S.E 9-4/A-C
  • Strong Numeracy Skills
  • Proficiency in IT & Software, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel
