Job Title: Legal Cashier

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Cashier to join our finance team in St Albans. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a crucial role in the smooth financial operations of our firm, ensuring compliance with legal accounting regulations and providing support to our legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process client and office account transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
  • Ensure compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations.
  • Handle billing processes, including preparing bills and liaising with fee earners.
  • Manage electronic payments and bank transfers.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial procedures within the firm.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
  • Sound knowledge of SAR and legal accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in using legal accounting software (e.g., SOS Connect, Elite 3E, ProLaw).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., AAT, ACCA) would be advantageous.
