Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Cashier to join our finance team in St Albans. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a crucial role in the smooth financial operations of our firm, ensuring compliance with legal accounting regulations and providing support to our legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Process client and office account transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
- Ensure compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations.
- Handle billing processes, including preparing bills and liaising with fee earners.
- Manage electronic payments and bank transfers.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of financial procedures within the firm.
- Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
- Sound knowledge of SAR and legal accounting practices.
- Proficiency in using legal accounting software (e.g., SOS Connect, Elite 3E, ProLaw).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting (e.g., AAT, ACCA) would be advantageous.
