About the Role

AgRecruit is proud to partner with David Austin Roses to find a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead their plant breeding and research efforts.

This is a unique opportunity to join a world-renowned horticultural company dedicated to breeding and cultivating exquisite English Roses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Breeding and Research
    • Develop and implement breeding programs to improve the quality and diversity of David Austin Roses.
    • Conduct research and testing to identify new rose varieties with desirable traits.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies for improving rose health, beauty, and fragrance.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and manage a team of experienced breeders and researchers.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure the successful execution of breeding and research programs.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate research findings and results to stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Team, breeders, and other relevant parties.
    • Collaborate with external partners, such as suppliers and industry experts, to stay up-to-date on the latest research and technologies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as plant science, genetics, or horticulture.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant breeding and research, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Skills and Qualities
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Passion for roses and horticulture.
