Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa, renowned for its exceptional talent and ambitious approach to game development. As a Material Artist at Lighthouse, you will have the opportunity to create world-class content in a collaborative environment that fosters growth and innovation.

As a key member of our Art team, you will support the creation of realistic, true AAA-standard PBR materials that bring our game to life. You will work closely with our Art Director, Technical Artists, Scanning Artists, and other teams to author materials and shaders, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create high-quality, realistic PBR materials that meet AAA standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop materials and shaders that enhance the game's visual fidelity
  • Work with Technical Artists and Render Engineers to define new material shaders and optimize performance
  • Develop and document the material creation pipeline and parameters to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality and productivity, and implement solutions to drive results

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in creating realistic PBR compliant materials
  • Experience working with real-time game projects and render engines
  • Proficiency in node-based material authoring tools such as Substance Suite
  • Proficiency in 3D authoring and rendering software such as 3D Max, Blender, or Marmoset
  • Strong organizational skills and disciplined work habits

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of photogrammetry and photography
  • Knowledge of geology, architecture, or dendrology
  • Interest in motorsport
