Job Overview:
The Inventory Control Supervisor is tasked with overseeing stock levels, evaluating inventory performance, and ensuring that optimal inventory is maintained.
This position requires collaboration with various departments such as finance, procurement, production, sales, and logistics to ensure a well-balanced inventory that satisfies customer demands while minimizing costs.
During quieter periods, assistance with light assembly of cable assemblies may be necessary (comprehensive training will be provided).Primary Duties:
Receiving and Evaluating Shipments:
Receive and unload incoming shipments and materials from vendors;
Examine deliveries for accuracy, quality, and any damages, reporting discrepancies or issues;
Document and log received items in the inventory management system.
Order Processing:
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer or internal specifications;
Ensure accurate order fulfillment, dispatching the correct items and quantities;
Coordinate with the shipping department to arrange and prepare shipments.
Stock Management:
Monitor and assess inventory levels;
Develop and implement strategies for inventory control to optimize stock levels;
Ensure that inventory is adequate to meet demand without overstocking.
Data Management and Reporting:
Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting key metrics such as turnover rates, stock levels, and slow-moving inventory;
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement;
Utilize ERP systems and Excel for data tracking and analysis.
Team Collaboration:
Work with procurement to ensure timely stock replenishment;
Coordinate with production teams to align inventory with manufacturing schedules;
Collaborate with logistics to manage inbound and outbound shipments and enhance warehouse operations.
Process Enhancement:
Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes and systems;
Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at increasing inventory accuracy and efficiency;
Implement best practices for inventory control and management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in supply chain analysis or logistics roles (including stores);
Familiarity with inventory management or ERP software.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities;
Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the manufacturing industry;
Knowledge of Python or Microsoft Visual Basic.
