Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and services.
- Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Collaborate with colleagues to advance medical research, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines that promote best practices and patient safety.
Requirements
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine and general internal medicine.
- Extensive medical experience at registrar or consultant level, with competency to manage on-call emergencies at senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to lead, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, with regular participation in appraisal and evidence of reflective practice.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant higher degree (MD/PhD) or qualification in Medical Education.
- Special interest in orthogeriatric medicine, community geriatrics, or acute frailty.
- Experience in service development and enacting change, with ability to lead clinical services.
- Relevant published papers in peer-reviewed journals, with involvement in ongoing research and teaching.
