Main Job Responsibilities

The University Hospital of North Midlands is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary/Office Coordinator to join our Histology team. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide comprehensive support to our Consultant Histopathologists, ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

Main Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the Consultant Histopathologists, including handling correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Handle telephone and other communications with sensitivity and confidentiality, responding to enquiries and providing information as required.
  • Support the collection of data and slides for multi-disciplinary meetings, ensuring timely preparation and distribution of materials.
  • Take, transcribe, and type up minutes, and ensure timely distribution of minutes and agendas to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support with Molecular and Outsource processes, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of samples and data.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 5 GCSEs to include English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook (or equivalent software).
  • NVQ in Business Administration or Customer Care.
  • Experience working in an office environment, with a proven track record of providing excellent administrative support.
