Rate: up to £685.13 p/d Umbrella

The Operational Change Team manages non-technical delivery, supporting the internal CSO capability & operation, ensuring robust governance is applied to all activity. Working independently or interlocked with CSO technical transformation activity, delivering embed & business readiness capability in lockstep.

The Operational Change Manager (AVP) is responsible for delivering change activities supporting the development of CSO. They will ensure all aspects of assigned initiatives are scoped, planned, tracked, and managed to successful completion. As the business strategy alters over time, the manager will need to adjust or re-align delivery/priorities accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead in the creation, communication, and implementation of Operational Change Initiatives in CSO.
  • Work with the PMO to support initiatives as necessary; create & maintain detailed project plans covering all deliverables (process, people, IT, control) and dependencies while actively assessing and managing risk; remove/reduce barriers towards realizing goals, ensuring mitigation actions are in place & managed.
  • Deliver status reporting against milestones, ensuring transparency of risks and issues; coordinate direct and matrix management of internal and third-party resources.
  • Create communication materials for multiple levels of stakeholders and actively manage day-to-day activities while ensuring delivery accountability is in place.
  • Ensure that projects and initiatives meet agreed delivery requirements and that acceptance is managed against agreed criteria and a defined plan.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership:
  • Influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization to guide, influence, and convince peer and VP stakeholders across UK COO of the impact of a change and the need for any recommended mitigation.
  • Collaborate with business teams/stakeholders and project/programme stakeholders to ensure that the change meets the needs of the business from a colleague and customer perspective.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business area and technical community, ensuring continued buy-in to the portfolio projects.
  • Engage with business sponsors and stakeholders and develop a network of support across the operation to enable change delivery.
  • Use knowledge of business areas across CSO to provide advice and recommendations to influence decisions for seamless change delivery.
Decision-making and Problem Solving:
  • Demonstrate decision-making skills and good organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Be resilient and innovative, eager to consider new and better ways of working.
  • Identify risks based on information gathered from projects and programmes and make evaluative judgments to support decision-making across UK COO.
  • Make recommendations to Operational Change Lead on corrective actions needed in the change portfolio to mitigate potential operational or change execution issues.
Risk and Control:
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do. Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Policies and Policy Standards.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience of working on Operational Change activity with a good understanding of the clients' Change frameworks.
  • Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate agility in approach and thinking, with the ability to challenge and offer alternative creative solutions to progress at speed and with quality.
  • Ability to make evaluative judgments based on analysis to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience.
  • Experience in leading and managing multiple stakeholders within a complex matrix environment across multiple geographies.
  • Experience of project mobilization, initiation, planning, and management of established projects.
  • Demonstrable security awareness and understanding of security in the broad business context.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets, presentation tools, word processing, and Project and Programme Management software tools.
