Role Overview
We are seeking a Volunteer Befriender to join our team at SeeAbility. As a Volunteer Befriender, you will play a vital role in the lives of the people we support in Kennington by being a reliable companion to attend activities they enjoy taking part in. These might include going for a walk, attending a concert, going to the cinema, going out for coffee or a meal, etc.
Key Responsibilities
* To be a kind, empathetic, and friendly companion to the people we support
* To have a good sense of humour and love to chat
* To be punctual and reliable
* To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
* To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation
Requirements
* To be over the age of 18
* To be able to commit to a regular time commitment
* To be able to undertake safeguarding training and any training specific to the role
