Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant - Investments to join our team at QBE Management Services (UK) Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for assisting with accounting and reporting activities associated with Investment Assets and exchange rate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and reliable financial information for completion of statutory / entity and group reporting, working in conjunction with Finance Operations.
  • Produce and analyze investment assets data to support regulatory submissions and board reviews.
  • Ensure that financial data and reports comply with the appropriate management, statutory and regulatory requirements, plus QBE Group accounting guidance and best practice guidelines.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting function in projects / change programmes, impacting financial reporting activities, and present as necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, directors, CFO, and the Board to share Investment/FX knowledge.

About You

  • Part/Qualified accountant (for example ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent, or have relevant years of working experience.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of best-practice accounting, preferably in an insurance environment.
  • Experience of using the latest relevant accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent analysis and data modeling skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective communication at all levels within the organization.
  • Be confident in building controls into processes.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of best practice accounting.
  • Good knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal, and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools.
