Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Safety Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation and consistency of operational safety rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high voltage safety rules and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety laws
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure high voltage equipment is accurately maintained and operated
  • Provide training and mentorship to employees on high voltage safety protocols and standard processes
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to high voltage safety and implement vital changes to company policies and procedures
  • Investigate and analyze safety incidents or near misses and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and industry organizations to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Ensure adequate training facilities and materials are available to support the application of safety rules
  • Chair the Safety Rules Committee Meetings and report back to the Business Manager
  • Serve as a point of contact for all Safety Action Plans (SAPs) within the business as a point of escalation

Requirements

  • A qualified degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, occupational safety, or a related field is required
  • Experience in UK high voltage safety management, preferably in an industrial or utility setting
  • Certification in high voltage safety or a related field is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of high voltage safety laws, codes, and standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams
