Aerospace Safety Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Manager with a strong background in the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and energy utilities industries to join our team at Blue Oak Recruitment.
In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently upheld across our operations, with a particular focus on remote teams working in challenging and high-risk environments.
Your proactive approach to safety will help promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring that our teams are protected and well-equipped to perform their duties safely.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain robust health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, including remote and rural locations, to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to protocols.
- Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences, and provide ongoing training and support to employees on best practices for health, safety, and environmental management.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution, ensuring safety remains a top priority.
- Prepare and present regular health and safety performance reports to senior management and stakeholders, keeping them informed on key metrics and progress.
- Manage and coordinate emergency response plans, particularly for work in farmland and under power lines, where specific risks must be mitigated.
- Oversee the provision of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all installers and surveyors, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained to the highest safety standards.
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of commercial vehicles and Polaris off-road vehicles, conducting regular audits and inspections.
