Job Summary

The Planning Support Manager will play a key role in supporting the Planning Team in the West region of Forestry and Land Scotland. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and mentoring to the team of seven planning foresters on the development of Land Management Plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to the planning team on the development of Land Management Plans.
  • Analyze and understand the implications of proposals in these plans.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders and take decisions along with others in the team.
  • Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to design economically sustainable UKFS compliant forests of the future.
  • Manage, prepare, and facilitate resilient land management plans.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of either forest operations, forest or land management.
  • Experience in forest land management planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
