Main Duties of the Job

The Events Officer will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of event planning and delivery:

  • Event Coordination: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate all aspects of event planning and delivery.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for event organisers, ensuring effective communication and smooth event operations.
  • Resource Management: Manage event resources, including IT equipment and materials, to support the successful execution of events.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper setup and troubleshooting of technical equipment.
  • Post-Event Activities: Participate in post-event reviews, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Key Skills and Attributes

To excel in this role, you will need strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external. You should have proven administrative experience and be proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, is crucial, as you will frequently use these tools for coordinating and during events. Experience in event management is desirable, along with familiarity with IT systems and virtual event platforms. A flexible approach and adaptability are also important, as the role may involve occasional travel and physical tasks such as setting up event spaces.
