Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled financial reporting accountant to become a vital part of our dynamic team. This role is designed to provide coverage for a parental leave, offering a hybrid work arrangement that allows for flexibility.

Role Summary

As a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the operations of a private equity-backed global enterprise with a turnover exceeding £700 million. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of projects, including system enhancements, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as well as month-end and year-end financial support, which includes reporting, audit assistance, and analytical tasks. You will work closely with the Group accounting team, our external finance partner, the Group Finance Manager, and the Group Financial Controller, while regularly engaging with senior finance personnel across divisions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in the monthly financial closing process, year-end financial reporting, and the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Engage in various accounting initiatives aimed at operational enhancement and simplification.
  • Collaborate with our external finance partner on month-end transactional processes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standardized financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation and advancement of supporting platforms such as Business Objects, Tableau, and Blackline.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with a strong technical background and comprehensive knowledge of consolidation processes.
  • Possession of a degree-level qualification.
  • Experience with IFRS standards.
  • Hands-on expertise in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and fixed asset accounting.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment, working alongside colleagues at all levels.
  • Familiarity with IFS software is a plus.
