Mechanical Design and Projects Specialist

GR Associates, a specialist independent building services consultancy, is seeking a high-end intermediate/senior level building services design engineer to join their design team in Birmingham. Hybrid remote working is available.
About the RoleWe work on a wide variety of project sectors, including general commercial, high-end residential, educational, health, and MOD. As a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for providing effective designs, conducting surveys, preparing feasibility reports, specifications, and site supervision. You should have a minimum of HND level and at least 2 years' UK building services design experience.
Key Responsibilities- Design calculations using industry-leading software.
- Assist in preparing reports such as feasibility studies, design reports, specifications, and contract administration.
- Attend site surveys and client meetings.
- Undertake detailed site surveys and design reviews.
- Understand engineering systems and report on both mechanical and electrical disciplines during meetings.
- Appreciate contract administration, project management, and site supervision/inspections, and assist with financial control of project(s) liaising with the Project Director.
- Preferably have some Revit MEP experience.
- Some experience of IES modelling software would be advantageous (but not essential).
- Ideally some understanding of BIM Level 2 and BIM project deliverables structure. Training will be provided if required.
- Undertake mechanical designs from inception to completion, sometimes within tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Full UK driving license.
