Job Title: Assistant Psychologist - East Midlands Gambling Harms Service

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the East Midlands Gambling Harms Service, a well-supported multidisciplinary team within Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will support and enhance the professional care of service users receiving support from the multidisciplinary team working within the East Midlands Gambling Harms service. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a new psychologically informed service for people experiencing gambling harms who may also present with additional mental health needs or other co-morbidities.

Main Duties:
  • Support the team in providing a trauma-informed service, including running groups, co-facilitating treatment groups, and individual stabilization work.
  • Undertake projects relating to service development and evaluation, focusing on the outcomes of the team's clinical work.
  • Support literature reviews and evidence-based practice, as well as designing and managing databases, spreadsheets, and using advanced IT skills in evaluations and audits.
  • Liaise with 3rd sector organizations to assist the service in its co-production, including running focus groups with service users.
  • Assist service promotion, as required.
Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a good honours degree in psychology, be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society, and have experience of working in a mental health setting. Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist or equivalent role is also essential. Desirable criteria include further postgraduate training, experience of working with addiction, grief, or trauma, and experience of designing and running groups.
