As a Senior Java Quality Assurance Engineer at JP Morgan Chase within the Electronic-Trading Risk Management division of Market Risk Technology, you will play a pivotal role as an experienced member of an agile team focused on quality assurance and testing. Your contributions will be essential in delivering reliable, market-leading technology solutions in a secure and scalable manner. You will be tasked with implementing vital technology solutions across various technical domains to support the organization's strategic goals.

The Market Risk division operates as a product organization within the Risk Management sector of Corporate Technology, responsible for assessing and reporting the potential for financial losses due to fluctuations in market variables such as prices and volatility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute detailed test plans, cases, and scripts to guarantee software quality.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to prioritize testing needs and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Conduct manual, automated, and regression testing, monitor issues, and validate bug resolutions to maintain software reliability.
  • Design and establish test automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Evaluate and document test outcomes, track defects, and refine testing practices.
  • Exhibit the ability to contribute to design, development, and technical troubleshooting, employing innovative approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Collect, analyze, and visualize data from diverse datasets to foster continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Identify underlying issues and trends in data, leveraging insights to enhance coding standards and system architecture.
  • Participate in software engineering communities and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a team culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Formal education or certification in software engineering principles and practical experience.
  • Strong grasp of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies.
  • Expertise in test planning, design, and execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey test results and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in programming languages and tools for writing test scripts, including Java, JavaScript, React, ExtJS, Cucumber, Cypress, and Playwright.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results and defects using tracking tools like Jira.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data validation and verification.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) practices, such as Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle.
  • Hands-on experience in API testing using JMeter.
  • Familiarity with observability or logging tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, log4j, CloudWatch, and ELK.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficiency in API Test Automation using Blazemeter or JMeter, with exposure to Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Understanding of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Accessibility Testing (ADA Testing Web).
  • Familiarity with Playwright UI Automation.
  • Experience in testing Microservices-based systems.
