Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Utility Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with utility providers, negotiating favorable rate structures, and ensuring compliance with company sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage relationships with utility providers to secure favorable rate structures and tariffs.
- Lead negotiations with utility providers to support Vantage's growth and operational needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company sustainability goals and renewable energy initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize power spend across Vantage's portfolio, coordinating with Operations and Billing teams to adjust contracts and utility engagements.
- Lead the process to obtain and secure utility power connection agreements, including the procurement of renewable energy options where feasible.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in power contracting or utility business development, with 8+ years preferred.
- Renewable PPA negotiation, carbon markets, natural gas, and/or energy markets experience preferred.
- Experience working with data centers or other similar large loads preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Working proficiency or fluency in French not required, but strongly preferred.
- Experience negotiating utility connection agreements required.
- Solid understanding of utility contracting, rate structures, and knowledge of energy use of organizations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Vantage Data Centers offers a comprehensive suite of health and welfare, retirement, and paid leave benefits exceeding local expectations. We also offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $150,000 + Bonus, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
