Quality Assurance Inspector

Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct thorough mechanical evaluations of individual components, subassemblies, or complete assemblies produced by the organization or its subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and EASA Part 21.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct mechanical inspections of all products manufactured by the organization, utilizing a variety of hand measurement tools and inspection devices, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Act as the designated Quality Representative for the release of specific customer products.
- Certify personnel for the release of Civil Aerospace products.
- Verify supplier First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Compile FAIRs in accordance with AS9102 for internal products.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical calibration activities with internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a calibration improvement strategy.
- Create Goods Inwards Inspection Plans (GRIPs) and collaborate with suppliers.
- Generate precise and comprehensive written Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for both internal and external distribution.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to establish and maintain records supporting the organization's calibration system.
- Communicate effectively with all internal departments through written reports and verbal interactions.
- Assist in customer site evaluations as necessary.
- Proactively identify quality control non-conformances to minimize waste.
- Perform mechanical inspections of products in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Demonstrated experience in a Quality Mechanical Inspector capacity.
2. Extensive background in a manufacturing setting utilizing mechanical measurement tools.
3. Familiarity with FAIRs in accordance with AS9102 is essential.
4. Proven proficiency in using a diverse range of hand measurement tools and inspection equipment, including CNC CMM (experience with CE Johansson is a plus).
5. Previous experience in producing accurate and detailed reports on non-conforming products.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including the ability to create Excel spreadsheets.
7. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
8. Strong command of the English language with excellent articulation skills.
9. Effective presentation and communication abilities at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
10. Strong literacy and numerical skills.
