About the Role

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Support Specialist to join our innovative STEP Project in Denbighshire. This project aims to enhance the living experience for individuals and families residing in temporary accommodation, empowering them to improve their well-being and build a brighter future.

Project Overview

STEP will provide comprehensive support to up to 50 households currently living in temporary housing. Initially, support will be delivered within existing temporary settings (B&Bs) before transitioning into bespoke supported living facilities as they become available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team to deliver holistic and tenancy-focused support to families and individuals residing in various temporary accommodation sites across Rhyl.
  • Provide guidance and assistance with navigating the benefits system and accessing essential resources.
  • Promote positive communication and build strong relationships with residents, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for an individual who possesses:

  • A deep understanding of homelessness and the unique needs of vulnerable individuals experiencing housing insecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits systems and eligibility criteria.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and build rapport.
