Position Overview:

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for directing the overall operations, administration, and profitability of the branch, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To effectively organize, develop, and inspire all branch personnel to meet both branch and individual goals.
  • To strategically enhance the branch's growth in accordance with the established Business Plan.
  • To cultivate and manage a portfolio of profitable general insurance offerings through selected Insurer panels to fulfill the Branch Business Plan.
  • To guarantee timely, compliant, and efficient administration and processing for Clients and Insurers on core PIB systems.
  • To provide expert technical assistance to Clients and Team Members.
  • To lead, motivate, and develop staff to achieve Branch and Group objectives, ensuring effective communication and performance evaluations are conducted. Collaborate with Head Office to manage employment, disciplinary, and Health & Safety matters effectively.
  • To oversee the branch's compliance, including handling complaints, ensuring adequate supervision, and managing third-party relationships.
  • To foster Client and Insurer relationships to maximize business opportunities and meet Key Performance Indicators, including income targets.
  • To place Commercial Lines business within designated authority limits and approved markets, referring exceptional cases to a senior colleague or Head Office.
  • To perform general broking tasks, including managing:
  1. Client inquiries and correspondence.
  2. New Business, Renewals, and Adjustments, ensuring the adequacy of coverage and suitability of terms offered, with clear communication of terms, conditions, warranties, and pricing.
  3. Insurer surveys, ensuring that risk improvements are implemented and adhered to, including communication with Clients if cover and/or terms change as a result of the survey.
  4. The efficient management of your schedule.
  • To comply with established policies and procedures as outlined in the Compliance Handbook.
  • To utilize all core PIB systems, ensuring they are regularly updated for effective Management Information and Reporting.
  • To coordinate with Finance, including Credit Control, to resolve all queries promptly and efficiently.
  • To participate in Company and/or Branch meetings and events as required, including necessary training, and to meet minimum CPD requirements through in-house training or by identifying development areas during Performance & Development Review meetings.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned by management on an ad-hoc basis.

Adherence to the FCA Conduct Rules is mandatory and will be assessed through annual performance reviews.
