Position: Sustainability Assistant (Embodied Carbon) – Graduate Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and a passion for minimizing carbon emissions.
  • Possess relevant knowledge of the construction sector or similar experience, which is highly advantageous.

Essential Skills:
  • Exhibit precision and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effectively manage time and workload.
  • Utilize analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with PDF editing tools (e.g., Adobe / Bluebeam) and/or computer-aided design software (e.g., CAD / Revit).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and development, with the ability to question established processes and propose more efficient solutions.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exhibit a high level of teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm.

Job Role / Responsibilities:
  • Assist in gathering data for Net Zero Carbon Reporting requirements.
  • Support client and project-specific Net Zero Carbon reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial, Design, and Project Teams to collect information and analyze procurement schedules, drawings, and commercial documents.
  • Engage with the supply chain to gather necessary information.

Framework Understanding:
  • Comprehend the Net Zero Framework and adhere to its guidelines.
  • Stay informed about the latest published data and guidelines from UKGBC, Government, RICS, etc.

Data Management:
  • Ensure the use of appropriate evidence for reporting and maintain accurate data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the collection, input, and reporting of Sustainability and Net Zero data.

Process Development:
  • Assist in developing Net Zero reporting processes.
  • Capture best practices and carbon reduction case studies to share insights and improve performance.

Reporting Guidance:
  • Guide reporting within required timeframes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide support for Sustainability and Net Zero capability materials, presentations, and documentation.

General Support:
  • Offer general support for Sustainability, Net Zero, and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • Act as a champion for Sustainability and CSR within the organization.
  • Ensure data quality for emissions reporting.
  • Influence design and construction processes to achieve Net Zero targets.
  • Generate innovative ideas to help reduce carbon emissions in the industry.
  • Contribute to the organization's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2025.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, innovations, and best practices in the industry to enhance clients' sustainability journeys.
