Financial Operations Specialist, Hybrid, London – Central, £33k

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Financial Operations Specialist within a prominent international development organization located in Central London. The primary focus of this role involves managing the organization's income streams and assisting the Financial Controller in ensuring efficient financial processing, robust financial controls, comprehensive financial reporting, and monitoring of all income generated within the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Income Management – Oversee the processing of contributions from diverse sources, including direct donations, online platforms, legacy income, and other non-donation related revenue, while also managing cheque and cash deposits into the bank.
  • Generate periodic statements related to fundraising initiatives and communicate these to relevant individual contributors.
  • Financial Administration – Supervise the donations inbox, engaging with donors and potential contributors to provide information and address inquiries. Timely acknowledgment letters for received donations will also be part of this responsibility.
  • Ensure that Gift Aid declaration forms are current and compliant with existing regulations.
  • Financial Oversight – Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and manage all funds received for other agencies.
  • Income Reporting – Prepare monthly reports detailing donations allocated to other agencies by the branch.
  • Provide support for tasks managed by the Financial Operations Specialist related to expenditure.
Qualifications Required
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience in financial accounting.
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced with integrated multi-ledger accounting systems.
  • Experience in a multi-currency financial environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with charity accounting principles and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, hands-on team.
  • Experience in submitting Gift Aid claims.
