Job Title: Radiography Coordinator

Join Mactech Energy Group as a Radiography Coordinator and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of radiography services on our Hinkley Point C site.

Job Purpose:

The Radiography Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the radiography support team's activities, ensuring that all radiography work is carried out safely and efficiently. This includes planning, preparing, and executing radiography operations, as well as managing the storage of radiographic film and developing NNB's strategy for digitizing radiographs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate radiography services with installation contractors and radiography service providers
  • Plan and prepare radiography operations to ensure safe and efficient execution
  • Manage the storage of radiographic film and develop NNB's strategy for digitizing radiographs
  • Champion non-radiological testing technologies to ensure ALARP in meeting nuclear safety requirements
  • Collaborate with the Radiography Subject Matter Expert to ensure ALARP justifications are produced and approved prior to work starting
  • Monitor safety of work activities and ensure work is delivered as planned
  • Apply KPIs to monitor radiography performance issues, trends, and risks
Requirements:
  • PCN or equivalent ISO 9712/ASME level 2 radiographer, current preferred but lapsed qualifications accepted
  • Previously trained and appointed as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) minimum
  • Experience working on large construction/refit projects with significant levels of radiography
  • Good knowledge of other non-destructive testing techniques/standards, additional qualifications such as ultrasonics and/or surface inspection are an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience from working in the nuclear sector
  • Good knowledge of the IRR2017
