We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Support Specialist to join our team at Wiltshire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop personalized safety plans for service users.
- Provide one-to-one and group work sessions to support individuals in changing unhealthy patterns of behavior.
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure a comprehensive approach to addressing domestic abuse.
- Advocate for individuals who wish to address their abusive behavior and support them in recognizing the impact of their actions.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the nature of domestic abuse, its effects on victims and children, and the range of models used in addressing abusive behavior.
- Proven experience in providing support services to individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
- Strong understanding of the criminal justice system, child protection, and multi-agency partnership structures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality services.
