Pastoral Officer - Hackney

We are seeking a kind-hearted and patient individual to join our team as a Pastoral Officer in a mainstream secondary school based in Hackney.

About the Role

The Pastoral Officer will support the school's Head of Year 8 & 9 to ensure each child progresses towards their goals. This role involves supporting children with mixed needs and requires a strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with mixed needs in a mainstream secondary school
  • Work closely with the Head of Year 8 & 9 to ensure each child progresses towards their goals
  • Provide pastoral support to children with SEN
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements
  • Pastoral Officer / Behaviour Mentor experience
  • Experience in supporting young people with SEN
  • Adaptability, motivation, and ability to take initiative
  • Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs
