We are seeking a Senior Pig Stockperson to become an integral part of our agricultural operation. Our enterprise, spanning across multiple regions, is dedicated to the ethical breeding and raising of pigs, adhering to the highest industry standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing operations in a sizable nursery with a capacity of 5,000, a finishing unit accommodating 7,000, and a breeding sow unit with 1,000 sows.
  • Providing support in the breeding unit as required.
  • Conducting daily care tasks including feeding, vaccinating, and managing the movement of pigs.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data related to pig management.
  • Upholding the farm's cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Utilizing and maintaining farm machinery and equipment effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing a large nursery and finishing unit is preferred.
  • Familiarity with wet feeding systems is a plus.
  • A strong commitment to animal welfare and the pig industry.
  • Experience in farrowing operations is desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Self-driven with a robust work ethic and a desire to excel.
  • Transportation is necessary due to the rural setting.

Compensation: £35,000 - £38,000 based on experience.
