Senior Mechanical Design Lead

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Lead to join our team at Mane Contract Services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of mechanical solutions for complex weapons and weapon systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical solutions across various stages of the Product Life Cycle, from Mechanical Future Concepts to Production and In-service Support.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective design and development of mechanical solutions.
- Develop and lead mechanical design work packages, ensuring compliance against requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
- Engage with suppliers and internal teams to ensure effective design and development of mechanical solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve design and development processes.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design and Development.
- Proven experience in leading mechanical design work packages and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
- Experience of supplier engagement and development across internal and external teams.
- Awareness and understanding of cultural differences and ability to adapt accordingly.
- Relevant 3D CAD/CAE experience (training on our preferred CAE tools will be given).
Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to gain UK government security clearance. To achieve this, you must hold British or dual nationality.
