About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Mane Contract Services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of mechanical solutions for complex weapons and weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical solutions across various stages of the Product Life Cycle, from Mechanical Future Concepts to Production and In-service Support.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective design and development of mechanical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust design experience across the Product Life Cycle (CADMID).
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business, influencing and negotiating as necessary.
  • Engage with suppliers and internal teams to ensure effective development and delivery of mechanical solutions.
Requirements
  • Degree/HND/HNC qualified in Mechanical Design and Development, with experience in areas such as mechanisms, structures, assembly and integration, and concept down selection and development.
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical design work packages and working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Awareness of proving and qualification activities to ensure compliance against requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Relevant 3D CAD/CAE experience (training on our preferred CAE tools will be given).
