Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant in Psychology

Location: Sutton

Are you a recent graduate in Psychology eager to gain experience in supporting students with special educational needs? This role is ideal for individuals interested in working with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, or Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This welcoming and supportive school in Sutton is seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work with children with special needs. The position offers a comprehensive insight into the special education sector and is particularly suited for psychology graduates who are keen to enhance their skills in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contribute to intervention strategies.

Compensation: £83.85-£100 per day

Key Requirements:

  • A compassionate and patient demeanor
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEND)
  • Flexibility in your approach to teaching
  • Current DBS check on the update service (new checks can be applied for)
  • Previous experience with children or adults with SEND is advantageous but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the educational development and learning of students within the institution
  • Provide both one-on-one and general support to students as required
  • Collaborate with fellow teaching and support staff to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, including behavior management protocols

All quoted pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent opportunities in the future.
