Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Rogers McHugh Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of fit-out projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Lead cost estimation, value engineering, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and produce financial reports
- Manage budgets, project costs, and ensure value for money for both the company and clients
- Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
- Administer contracts and handle variations, claims, and final accounts
- Provide expert advice on commercial strategy and contract selection
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior members of the quantity surveying team
- Consultancy experience in the construction or fit-out industry is desired
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in retail, hospitality, leisure, or healthcare fit-out projects
- In-depth knowledge of contract administration (JCT, NEC, etc.) and cost management
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage high-value, complex projects independently
- Leadership skills and experience in mentoring junior staff
- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong problem-solving skills
- Competitive salary between £50,000 - £70,000, depending on experience
