About the Role:
We are seeking an ambitious and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team at Macildowie Recruitment and Retention. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and maintenance of our office IT and VoIP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for our office IT and VoIP systems, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime.
- Support and maintain servers and infrastructure to ensure they operate effectively across the business.
- Offer IT helpdesk support, including setting up new users, moving and setting up workstations, password resets, and troubleshooting system issues.
- Provide support and administration for Microsoft 365 products and services.
- Maintain antivirus and software security, monitor backup schedules, and coordinate daily backup routines.
- Ensure system and policy changes are fully documented and kept up to date.
- Perform facilities management and building support as required.
- Undertake ad-hoc IT-related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience in an IT support environment, including first-line support.
- Ability to support a wide range of desktop applications across Windows and Mac, primarily Microsoft products.
- Experience of MS Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, group policies, roaming profiles, DHCP, DNS, and DFS.
- Knowledge of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, structured cabling, patch panels, and an understanding of TCP/IP principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hardware across a variety of workstations.
- Understanding of security principles within an office IT environment.
- An understanding of VoIP system administration.
Personal Qualities and Skills:
- Confident individual with good interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels and communicate in a clear, non-technical language.
- Ability to identify priorities and multitask based on business requirements, with good time management to complete support requests within the required scope.
- Ability to deal with multiple issues simultaneously.
- Positive and forward-thinking approach to new initiatives.
- Takes ownership and responsibility of appointed tasks.
- Happy to work autonomously and able to problem-solve independently.
- Flexible and adaptable to a variety of queries.
What We Offer:
- Salary: GBP27,000
- Office-based role with flexible start and finish times
- 37.5 hours per week
- 20 days holiday, increasing to 25 incrementally over 6 years, plus Bank Holidays
- 3 months probationary period
