About the Role

The post-holder will be responsible for leading the financial planning and reporting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to support the Trust's financial duties. This will involve working closely with the Planning and Income accountant to ensure continuous service for both external and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the contracting regime and commissioner contract payment process, as well as excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications and NHS information systems. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage staff effectively and produce required outputs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the financial planning and reporting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to support the Trust's financial duties.
  • Work closely with the Planning and Income accountant to ensure continuous service for both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Provide financial expertise and advice to service line managers, advising on implications around National tariff and best practice tariffs.
  • Monitor and report income as required, both internally and externally, and present information to non-finance colleagues in an accessible form.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) member or equivalent experience or Honours Degree level.
  • Substantial NHS experience, with a strong understanding of the contracting regime and commissioner contract payment process.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications and NHS information systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage staff effectively and produce required outputs.
