MMP Consultancy is seeking a seasoned Building Safety/Fire Safety professional to join our team as a Building Safety Manager. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading consultancy firm in the industry.

Job Summary:

The Building Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory duties as set out in the Building Safety Bill and Fire Safety Bill. This includes managing all properties in accordance with their Safety Case Report and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Building Assurance Certificate.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all directions given and statutory notices issued by the Building Safety Regulator, including mandatory reporting.
  2. Resident Engagement: Act as the first point of contact with residents for complaints handling and information provision on the role of residents in building safety.
  3. Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise and co-operate with other occupiers and owners of properties to secure an integrated approach to managing building safety risks.
  4. Non-Compliance Management: Deal with and/or escalate any non-compliance issues appropriately.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all relevant aspects of current and future Building and Fire Regulations are adhered to in all circumstances.
  6. Legislative Expertise: Act as our clients expert on all new and emerging legislation relating to building safety and ensure that the correct systems, services and documentation are in place and are accurate to meet obligations.
  7. Building Safety Cases: Develop Building Safety Cases, ensuring that these are completed within set timescales, monitoring the completion of any resulting actions.
  8. Statutory Obligations: Act as the duty holder in relation to our clients statutory obligations in all assigned areas of responsibility and manage any external consultants engaged to provide competent person roles.
  9. Policies and Processes: Draft policies and processes to ensure they are kept up to date with secondary legislation and emerging best practice.
  10. Fire Risk Assessments: Ensure fire risk structure assessments and fire risk assessments are undertaken and reviewed regularly with all recommendations undertaken in a timely manner.
