Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at The Avalon Group in Northallerton. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities or additional needs to live their lives to the fullest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities or additional needs, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments, social events, and activities, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Support individuals in finding and maintaining employment, education, or training opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as healthcare workers, social workers, and family members, to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care or support role is not necessary, but a genuine interest in supporting others is essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our service users.
  • Valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS) is required.
