Job Summary

To provide accurate, timely, and qualitative processing of prescription requests for registered patients, ensuring seamless support to the prescribing technician, pharmacist, and GPs, as well as other primary healthcare team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process medication requests from registered patients in line with practice protocols, assisted by receptionists.
  • Collect repeat prescription requests from post boxes and reception, and liaise with patients and pharmacies regarding queries and requests.
  • Ensure medication is issued in accordance with protocols, and address any queries or concerns raised by patients or pharmacies.
  • Highlight patient queries on medication to the relevant GP and assist the Pharmacy Technician with blood monitoring and audits processes.
  • Support the pharmacy technician in achieving practice targets related to prescribing.
  • Remove uncollected prescriptions from patient records and destroy them, as per practice protocols.
  • Process incoming 111 reports in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Maintain the housekeeping of incoming EMIS message and task inboxes, ensuring timely handling of messages and removal of redundant information.

This role requires a strong understanding of practice protocols and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
