Strategic Lead for Inclusion and Alternative Provision

Reed is supporting a Greater Manchester Council in their recruitment to a Strategic Lead for Inclusion and Alternative Provision position. This role, based in the Council's School Improvement Team, is crucial in leading, overseeing, and managing the work of Fair Access and Alternative Provision development across the service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Fair Access Team and Alternative Provision QA officer.
  • Analyse performance against key indicators, prioritising areas for improvement in service delivery.
  • Develop strategies to reduce suspensions and permanent exclusions within the school system.
  • Monitor and review the impact of strategies to improve access, attendance, participation, and engagement of students.
  • Support and challenge schools to secure effective inclusive practices and procedures.
  • Strengthen processes and practice for children requiring access to education via Section 19.
  • Line manage team members, providing regular supervision and implementing performance management.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in working in schools and/or the LA to remove barriers to learning for vulnerable children and/or young people.
  • Implementation of policy and systems with a positive impact on vulnerable children and young people.
  • Knowledge of issues and legislation in relation to schools, inclusion, and current developments in children's services.
  • Experience of analysing data and evaluating the impact of strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
